Bentley T2

We always enjoy a challenge!! This first T2 - BCF 418T although only having 1 private owner since new was in real need of some TLC. We bought her in December 2005 and set to. The last owner had become elderly and lacked good eyesight so there were some parking issues at both ends together with scrapes, marks and bad repairs on most panels.

We decided to change colour from Walnut over Willow to Highland Green finished off with hand applied Tudor Red fine lines. We re-trimmed the front seats, top roll, tops of centre arm rests and knee roll. All 4 headrests had been lost and new ones had to be found. All wood was completely re-furbished and a modern stereo / CD with remote control fitted into the glove box (leaving the original radio in the fascia). New lambs wool rugs were fitted and the engine bay was prepared to Show Standard.

Mechanically we gave her a major service, re-cored the radiator and changed all fluids, gas springs, brake pads etc etc. Riding on new Avon white wall tyres we are using and thoroughly enjoying her ourselves. There were only 554 of this model made for the world whereas there were about 8.279 Shadow II’s made. Our view is that these cars are undervalued in todays’ market – they drive better than an S2 or S3 and cost a lot less than an equivalent condition version.
